Denne metoden er relativt enkel \u00e5 l\u00e6re seg, og den st\u00f8rste fordelen er at den gj\u00f8r det lettere \u00e5 oppn\u00e5 en jevn og estetisk tiltalende sveiseflate. Brennerflammen rettes mot sveisen som skal dannes, og smelter kantene p\u00e5 metallene som skal sammenf\u00f8yes, slik at det oppst\u00e5r et basseng av flytende metall med et s\u00e5kalt \"\u00f8ye\", som er karakteristisk for denne metoden. Vi styrer flammen inne i sveisesporet mens vi f\u00f8rer tr\u00e5den langs overflaten av bassenget og gj\u00f8r sm\u00e5, tverrg\u00e5ende eller elliptiske bevegelser med den, og s\u00f8rger dermed for en uavbrutt tilf\u00f8rsel av smeltede tilsetningsstoffdr\u00e5per.
