The purpose of the training
Air carriers are obliged to comply with the Regulation (EC) no. 1107/2006 of 5th June 2006 on rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air. Airport staff should be prepared to assist the disabled.
The main purpose is to teach how to help disabled persons in wheelchairs to get on and off the plane as well as how to place safely a wheelchair and other kind of equipment enhancing the mobility on the board.
Syllabus
The training for ambulift operators comprises theoretical knowledge and practical exercises. During the course participants find out how to assist the disabled in a safe way and in compliance with the provisions while getting on and off the plane. The trainings ends with the exam before the commission of the Bureau of Technical Inspection (Urząd Dozoru Technicznego).
